Early promo sketches

I thought it would be a good time to take a break from the Horror Movie Marathon to post a rough idea of what the promo art for my ongoing experimental project (temporarily titled The Deserters) looks like. Enjoy!

Few character sketches as well as a slightly more accurate drawing for the house portrait I'm working on. Enjoy!

South Mountain Home (aka Two Posts in One Day)

Here's a few sketches of a personal project of mine. I'm currently working on a "portrait" of my home in New York as a gift to my family. I've envisioned it as a cross section of sorts. Trying to figure out the best way to cut and peel the house apart is pretty difficult...it also sounds kind of violent and messy. These are just a few really rough ideas. There will be more to come when I figure out how everything actually fits together using photographs and (hopefully) blueprints that my dad has kept over the years.

What could have been.

I doubt that any of these sketches or ideas will carry over into my final story, but I always love when other illustrators give people a glimpse of what was going on inside their heads when they first got an idea. Here are a few sketches of the "hero" of my story. Enjoy!

It's been too long...

For a while now I've had this idea rattling around in my head. It originally involved heroic knights fighting ugly dragons, damsels in distress, little people with big hats - you know, the usual. There was more, but I just wasn't happy with how formulaic it was all turning out to be.

So I went back to the drawing board and kinda turned the whole idea on its head. Everything has become much smaller in scale and focuses on a few main characters. There arent any dragons (yet), the distressed damsels are gone, and the little people's hats are slightly smaller (only slightly, I promise).

I dont want to say too much too soon because its always fun to make people wait, but I thought I'd post a few sketches of some of the main characters. Everything is still pretty rough but hopefully I'll be posting more refined work in the weeks to come. Enjoy!
