Scrying without Tears The Theory Technique and Uses of Scrying edition by Anousen Leonte Religion Spirituality eBooks

This is a useful little book for beginners, but there are a few problems with it. Keep these in mind if you decide to purchase this book.

First, this book is in need of an editor. There are several grammatical errors, and some of them can be quite distracting. Even maddening.

The second issue is that this book assumes that one must be on, or beginning, a path of ceremonial magick to achieve the full affects of scrying. This is simply not the case. While ceremonial magick has had a rich and long history of scrying, so have many other paths. I do not practice ceremonial magick, but I have been practicing witchcraft for over 20 years, and have been scrying for almost as long.

I have been going through various beginner level books to determine which ones to recommend to those just starting out, and I would not recommend this to a beginner on a non-ceremonial path simply because they may get the wrong idea that one must study ceremonial magick to achieve the fullest affects of the practice. This could lead even those with a natural, though not yet discovered, gift for scrying to abandon the practice, which would be a shame.

Also, there is an idea that one must have a completely solid color enveloping one's entire field of vision, and while this is certainly easier for some, it entirely leaves out the practices of scrying in crystals or flames, among other things. I myself often scry with a simple candle flame, and am also fond of scrying in various crystal balls. I have actually just purchased a lovely obsidian ball for use in scrying, and it most certainly does have various "imperfections." I have used similar balls over the years with great success.

If, however, one can get past the grammatical errors, the idea that ceremonial magickal practices are requisite, and the implication that your field of vision must be a perfectly solid color, then this can be a very useful introduction.

This is the first beginner book on scrying I have looked through, so I cannot, in good conscience, recommend another, however I have purchased several more, and will write my reviews as I finish them.

Great
I found this book very helpful. Scrying is something I've never done, however this short little introduction has given me the tools and confidence to begin. Thanks.
Great Info good price, well worth it!
This was a very good book on scrying, much more thorough and complete than other books I have read by this author. Would strongly recommend this book to beginners in scrying, there really is not a lot more to be said except put in the work and get the results.
